Summer Family Fun day presented by the Whakatane Race Club

We want to support kiwi communities getting out there to experience a good family day out in the sun and fresh air. We were lucky enough to support the Summer Family Fun day presented by Whakatane Race club at Te Teko race course on January 31.
The day was filled with sunshine, horse racing and laughter, not to mention all the lovely looking ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls who got dressed to the nines to take part in the Fashion in the Field competition as you can see in the photo’s below.
If you attended, we hope you had as much fun as we did.

Westport Trotting Club – Boxing Day Races

The 2011 Boxing Day races hosted by the Westport Trotting Club took place on the 26th and 28th of December at Richmond Park and we were proud to be a key sponsor for the event. We were the principal sponsors of the Just Energy Westport Cup on 26 December. A special congratulations to the owners of “Falcon Crown” who won the race and got to take home the coveted Just Energy gold and white dress rug.

The day was filled with fun and the great weather meant that the track conditions were at their best.

Stroke and Stride

Just Energy are sponsoring this fantastic event for the second year! We believe it is important to support our communities getting out in the sunshine and being active. The Stroke and Stride series is New Zealand’s most popular swim run race and this is the 23rd season the event has been running. The first race was last week and will continue through till March next year with 8 races scheduled, one a fortnight.

TOKOROA LIGHT PARTY

We were very excited to be part of the Tokoroa Light Festival this year. This is a positive alternative to Halloween and each year the event gets bigger and better. The event is a huge success in keeping children entertained and off the streets. Over 1,000 adults and kids attended this event on the evening of Halloween. Each kid received a goodie bag to take home too!
Congrats to all the kids in the audience who managed to catch the Just Energy mini rugby balls. We hope you put them to good use over summer!
Even some adults got in on the action with a ‘dance-off’ to win one of four $150 Just Energy power vouchers!

Just Energy was a sponsor at this year’s Nelson Hospice Tug-of-Peace. The Tug-of-Peace is one of the many events which raise awareness for the Hospice service in the region, as well as the much-needed funds for this service to continue. Coinciding with this event is a viewing of the newly completed Hospice Main Entrance and Clinical Room Refurbishment.

Six teams battled it out on 21 September in sunny Nelson to see who would win the Tug of Peace trophy and Just Energy gift voucher this year.

Dene Biddlecombe, our CEO, attended the event and stepped up to the challenge, when a team had to pull out of the event, to be part of ‘The Suits’ team who took on the Rugby Jerseys
